Room rates were reduced to $89/single, and $99/double from $115/single and $125/double. Effective June 1, 2012, rates are going back to the original (until 12/31/2012). Iron Gate Inn Gets New Management, February, 2012

In February 2012, the Iron Gate Inn got a new owner and a new Innkeeper. Believe it or not the Iron Gate Inn is 40 years old this year (2012). This makes the Iron Gate Inn, Winfield's longest-running B&B! After being held in the Baden family for almost 100 years, the property was converted to a B&B and first opened to the public in 1972. The current Innkeeper (Melinda) is a native of Winfield and brings all of the knowledge and special touches to the Iron Gate that you would expect from of first-class, full-service B&B.

From volunteer auctions that benefit local organizations to hosting high school plays and from putting on murder mystery dinner events to conducting free open houses and historic tours, the Iron Gate Inn is involved in the local Community in many ways.

Originally known as Baden Mansion, the house was built in 1885 at a cost of approximately $25,000 for the then wealthiest man in town, John Paul Baden. Today the house still exudes the elegant Victorian charm of yesteryear with original gas/electric chandeliers, original parquet flooring on both the 1st and 2nd levels, original window sash locks throughout and the iconic original custom spring-loaded sliding shutters.
