Iron Gate Inn Summer Concert
Saturday, June 1st from 8:00pm - 10:00pm:  "An Evening at the Iron Gate Inn".  Sit on the large east lawn of the Iron Gate Inn and listen to the groovy sounds of three different musical groups:
(1)  Czech Republicans
(2)  Lane Turgeon Combo
(3)  Möbius Strip
This event is FREE and open to the public.  Voluntary donations requested.  Chairs will  be provided free for Seniors, but otherwise please bring your own lawn chair or blanket to sit on.  Musical groups will be selling their memorabilia.  Bottled water and lemonade will be sold for $1/ea.

Cherokee Strip Land Rush Museum
Documents the fascinating saga of early pioneers settling Indian lands known as the Cherokee Strip.  Very interesting!!

Caton Homes
Bill Caton, a renowned architect, lived in Winfield and practiced architecture (especially residential architecture) for over forty years.  His projects, the earliest in 1924, are to be found on almost every street of Winfield, and in numerous states from coast to coast.  Over eight hundred projects were completed by Bill Caton. 
 
Broadway Recreation Complex
Located at 2200 Broadway Street, (click for map) is adjacent to the K- 360 bypass.  The Broadway Recreation Complex is a state-of-the-art facility consisting of a regulation size baseball field, 4 youth fields, 6 soccer fields, 1 football field, and batting cages.  To schedule an activity call 620-221-2160.

Chaplan Nature Center

Old Cowtown Museum
Get a feel for what it was like to live on the prairie in the 1800s.  Old Cowtown is a living history museum with blacksmiths, gun slingers, show girls, Civil War Day, Victorian Balls, "An Evening of Burlesque", old time melodramas, the internationally acclaimed Diamond W Wranglers singing group and much more!  New shows and events every week.  Check it out at

The South Kansas Symphony

Walnut Valley Festival

Henry's Candy Company
Ever been to a candy factory?  Forget about watching the mechanical taffy pullers!  How about some of those SAMPLES??  Henry's Candy Company has been a fixture in Dexter for over 50 years - just a hop, skip and a jump from the Iron Gate Inn.  The "Oh Henry" Candy Bar was invented by a man named Tom Henry, whose family still runs this incredible Dexter candy factory.
